NFL Coaches Likely to Take a Chance on JaMarcus Russell

JaMarcus Russell was selected No. 1 overall in the 2007 NFL Draft and gave many Raiders fans hope for the future of the franchise. Russell was drafted in the top spot because of his cannon arm and that was all that Mr. Raider himself, Al Davis, needed to convince himself that Russell was his franchise quarterback. Russell had the talent to become a top quarterback in the NFL, but squandered his opportunity because of his lack of desire to master his craft. Despite all of the negative comments made about Russell by teammates and former coaches, this is the NFL—and not every team has a franchise quarterback. There will be someone who will want to reach out to Russell's agent. Even teams with aging quarterbacks will want his services; let's remember that Russell is only 24 years old.
