Oh, the pressure of being No. 1. Or, more appropriately, No. 32 with the top overall pick. The reward for having the worst record in the NFL is getting the No. 1 pick in the next NFL Draft. That's Carolina's position now.
There are enviable aspects to being in the Panthers' shoes and unenviable aspects. The unenviable part is the pressure heaped on them to make a solid pick. Carolina needs a quarterback, a need that got complicated when Stanford's Andrew Luck returned to school.
But you'd be greatly mistaken if that is all you thought Carolina needed. They need help on the defensive line, at cornerback and many, many other positions.
The good news is that Carolina gets more picks than the first overall selection. The Panthers have a pick in every round except for the second. How can Carolina turn things around in the draft?
