Bengals Taking a Look at Second-Round Quarterback Prospects
The Cincinnati Bengals have been keeping a close eye on the second-round quarterback prospects just as much as Newton and Gabbert, it seems. In fact, Christian Ponder, Ryan Mallett, and Andy Dalton are more likely to be chosen by the Bengals.
The Bengals are meeting with Ponder and Dalton tomorrow and holding workout sessions for both of them. In Dalton's case, he will complete the trifecta or a Pro Day workout, private workout, and team visit, which only Cam Newton has done for Cincinnati according to Pro Football Talk.
Personally, I think Dalton has become the frontrunner in the Bengals' front office as the guy they want to run the show. They are a franchise who would take a risk on a high-risk high-reward player, but Dalton seems to fit everything the Bengals would want.
If Jay Gruden is fond of Dalton, and it seems like he is, then the Bengals will definitely consider him. Christian Ponder is an option ...
