Maurkice Pouncey's Success Could Play Role in Mike's Ascent
In what may be one of the stranger articles I've read, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette notes that Maurkice Poucey's success as a rookie is why Mike's stock is moving up in the draft.
After actually reading through the article, it does make some sense, to an extent at least. In Maurkice Pouncey's first season, he was selected to the Pro Bowl, and was drafted 18th overall. Mike Pouncey could go around the 18th pick as well.
According to Ed Bouchette, Ben Roethlisberger said to Maurkice: "I talk to Maurkice all the time; he’d die to have his brother here. I think that’s pretty slim. I told Mike he needs to thank Maurkice for getting him drafted higher and I told Maurkice it’s your fault we’re not getting him."
