The Dolphins' first-round pick, Jared Odrick, was the overall 23rd pick in the 2010 draft.
With the Dolphins having injury troubles in the DE position after Phillip Merling had a season-ending injury, negotiations have finally yielded a contract.
The contract gives Odrick $7.1 million guaranteed, with a possible bonus reaching $13 million.
The Dolphins have needed help creating pressure on the quarterbacks, and Odrick was hailed as a smart move by the Dolphins during the draft.
Odrick is one of many first round picks finally making deals as training camp approaches, the most notable being Sam Bradford, who signed with the Rams for $50 million.
Jared Odrick signed just a day before the beginning of training camp, which began Friday.
Merling, despite his injury, has been helpful to the Dolphins by adopting Odrick. Odrick has sat next to Merling in meetings and gained many important tips from the player.
