NFL Mock Draft 2011: Indy Gets Derrek Sherrod to Protect Peyton Manning

With the 31st pick in last year's draft, the Colts passed up Indiana offensive tackle Rodger Saffold who went on to star with Sam Bradford and the St. Louis Rams.  This season, don't expect Indy to pass up the draft's most complete offensive tackle in Derek Sherrod, as the Colts are aging quite a bit on the front lines.

Sherrod has been dubbed as the most NFL-ready blocker in the draft by many experts across the country, and would be of great service to Peyton Manning as soon as next season.

In his three seasons with Mississippi State, Sherrod was as consistent a blocker as you'd expect, and transfers will into the NFL.  With his impressive showing at the Combine (5.18 40-yard dash, 23 bench reps), Sherrod is nearly a first-round lock, and will be of superb use next season for Indianapolis.
