NFL Odds: Carolina Panthers Getting 5.5 Against Seattle Seahawks

Despite four losses in the last five games, the Seattle Seahawks (5-6) remain tied atop the NFC West. If they are able to hang on and win the division, it would be their fifth title in seven years. A visit from the Carolina Panthers (1-10) should help their cause.
NFL odds makers have listed the Seahawks as 5.5-point favorites with the total set at 40.
Seattle did not look good last week in a 42-24 home loss to AFC West leader Kansas City. The Seahawks allowed Kansas City to rack up 270 of its 503 total yards on the ground.
A strong defense was a staple of Pete Carroll’s USC teams, but he has not inherited a strong defensive unit in Seattle. The Seahawks have allowed at least 487 yards in each of their last four losses. They rank 30th in the league in total defense, allowing 399.0 yards per game.
