NFL Picks Week 2: New York Jets Shouldn’t Be Underdogs to New England Patriots

In a crucial early-season AFC East match-up, the New England Patriots travel to face the New York Jets. New York players have been talking a lot of smack, especially on the show Hard Knocks, but they will need a lot more offense if they are to knock off the defending champs this week. NFL odds for this contest show New England -3 over New York with a total set of 38.5 points. A defensive battle would certainly give the Jets the advantage.
New York could not get anything going offensively in their 10-9 loss to the Baltimore Ravens last Monday. QB Mark Sanchez completed just 10 of 21 passes for 71 yards, and starting running back Shonn Greene fumbled twice in the first half.
