The third week of the NFL preseason is traditionally the most important. Starters normally play until halftime and sometimes into the third quarter as a dress rehearsal for the regular season before receiving little to no playing time in the exhibition finale.
It's always a delicate balancing act for coaching staffs, though. While they want to get some prep work in so the team hits the ground running when the games actually count, the injury risk could lead to some earlier exits this year.
