NFL Week 9 Picks: TE Visanthe Shiancoe Re-Emerges For Minnesota Vikings

Randy Moss is in Tennessee, Sidney Rice still isn't ready to play, and Percy Harvin is questionable with an ankle injury. That means the Minnesota Vikings passing game is as thin as ever in terms of reliable targets, and it should also mean a big afternoon for tight end Visanthe Shiancoe.

Shiancoe had his two best receiving games early in the season when the Vikings were in a similar position, depleted in the passing game and forcing Shiancoe into playing the go-to target for quarterback Brett Favre.

He caught 10 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown through Week 2, but then his production completely fell off a cliff. However now that the Vikings are without Moss and still without Rice, and Harvin is banged up, I expect Favre to frequently look Shiancoe's way against the Arizona Cardinals.

Arizona is not a great defensive team, struggling against both run and pass so far in 2010, so I expect the Minnesota offense to have plenty of chances. The biggest beneficiary...
