Nick Mangold Injury: Updates on Jets Center’s Ankle and Recovery

New York Jets center Nick Mangold will miss the remainder of the 2016 season after the team announced it placed him on injured reserve Thursday due to an ankle injury.

Mangold Out for Season Thursday, Dec. 8 Brian Costello of the New York Post reported the Jets signed safety Doug Middleton from the practice squad to take Mangold's place on the roster.
Injury Could Spell End of Mangold's Tenure in New York The veteran center left Monday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts after reinjuring his ankle, which has bothered him for more than a month. He missed the Jets' previous four games while recovering from an injury suffered in an Oct. 23 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Mangold had grown "frustrated" with the slow healing of his ankle and sought a second opinion on his status, leading to Thursday's announcement:
