Nick Rogers, ex-Miami Dolphins Linebacker, Killed in Car Accident

Former NFL linebacker Nick Rogers, who had a brief stint with the Miami Dolphins in 2005, is dead after a fatal car accident in Atlanta early Monday morning.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Rogers was killed in a single-car accident around 1:30 a.m. Monday in College Park after his vehicle left the road and struck a power pole.

A second-team All-ACC selection as a senior at George Tech in 2001, Rogers was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round of the 2002 NFL Draft.

After appearing in all 32 games for the Vikings during his first two seasons, Rogers split the 2004 season with the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts.

Rogers' last saw NFL action after signing with the Nick Saban-led Dolphins in the middle of the 2005 season, appearing in three games and recording one tackle.
