Santonio Holmes was the receiver of the future for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Before today, Santonio Holmes had spent his entire NFL career in a Steelers uniform.
Now, he will be wearing a Jets uniform, out of the Steel City, for good.
Holmes departure from the Steelers has to be linked to his off-the-field issues. He has had some issues in the past, where his image has not been the greatest, but yet he still played the game of football.
In Pittsburgh, he will forever be known as the receiver to catch the game-winning touchdown in the Super Bowl against the Cardinals.
He was later named the Super Bowl MVP, as well.
So what could possibly have gone wrong, that we would not be able to see Santonio Holmes in a Steelers jersey for the rest of his career?
Well, after another Super Bowl hangover, the Steelers ended the season without a playoff berth and an early offseason too forget.
