The Atlanta Falcons intend to release defensive tackle Paul Soliai after the new league year begins March 9, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Soliai Not Open to Pay Cut with Falcons Saturday, Feb. 20 Soliai does not intend to take a pay cut from the $5 million he’s due next year, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com—at least not with Atlanta, which signed him to a five-year, $33 million deal two years ago. 
The Falcons can pin Soliai with a post-June 1 designation and would take only a $1.4 million salary-cap hit in 2016 and $2.8 million hit in 2017. Teams are allowed to do so on two players per year, per Florio, and if they don’t use the designation, the Falcons will assume the full $4.2 million cap charge next season.
