Even if your team is down late in the fourth, you just know that somehow, some way, if he gets his hands on the ball near the end, he will find a way to win. The Raiders had that in Kenny Stabler. The 49ers had that in Joe Montana and Steve Young. The Cowboys had that with Roger Staubach, and now the Chargers have that in Philip Rivers. In just four seasons as a starter, Rivers has had a remarkable 11 fourth quarter come-from-behind victories. This means that when the Chargers are down late, the chances are actually better that they will win than that they will lose.
