Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Atlanta Falcons: Breakdown of the Steelers’ 15-9 OT Win

The Pittsburgh Steelers started their 2010 regular season yesterday with a 15-9 win overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons. I've watched the game for a second time and I'll give you my thoughts on it.

1. Dennis Dixon- In the 1st of four games without Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers were practically forced to put Dixon in as the starter. I thought his play was average again. If you just look at the box score and numbers, it looks better then he does when you actually watch him play. Dixon was 18-26 for 238 yards and had 1 interception. The interception was his fault, he tried to throw the ball through the defender and this isn't Madden.

Dixon also needed some luck as the Falcon's defenders dropped at least 2 fore sure interceptions. *I don’t understand why it took nearly 3 quarters for the Steelers to call their first vertical passing play.
