Pride Of The Lions: Ndamakong Suh. Dare I Hope? That’s What Sports Is About.

Ndamakong Suh was named NFL Pepsi Rookie of the Year on Feb. 3; first defensive player ever.  OK, it's an award nine years old. 
But he will clearly win Defensive Rookie on Friday, and he has already said he's determined to bring a championship to Detroit.
I know, I know: I have been a rabid Lions' fan since 1962, when we sacked Bart Starr 11 times on Thanksgiving Day 1962 (I was there with my uncle, and for many more, at Tiger Stadium.  Long time ago.). 
So I know the skepticism, and I share it.  But, I like the cut of their jib now. 
As someone who remembers Alex Karras more for football than acting, Van Patrick, Fat Bob the Singing Plumber singing "Gridiron Heroes," and the drafts with Billy and Barry (and Charles and Joey), I think I am entitled to hold out hope.
