Pro Football Hall of Fame: 17 Finalists for Class of 2011 Announced
The Pro Football Hall of Fame has announced the 17 finalists eligible to be inducted.
The committee selected five first-year eligible players—Jerome Bettis, Marshall Faulk, Curtis Martin, Deion Sanders, and Willie Roaf—to join the 15 modern-era finalists to be eligible for induction.
The 10 other modern-era finalists include Tim Brown, Andre Reed, Cris Carter, Dermontti Dawson, Richard Dent, Chris Doleman, Charles Haley, Cortez Kennedy, Ed Sabol and Shannon Sharpe. Plus, there are two senior nominees in Les Richter and Chris Hanburger.
This is quite the distinguished class and the voting committee certainly has a tough selection process ahead of them.
