Purple Drank and the NFL: Johnny Jolly Isn’t the Only One Getting Caught

I have been reading articles in the newspapers around the country and one thing that I've been noticing is the drink called purple drank.

I haven't heard of it until just recently, so I did my own little research on this drink called purple drank.

It is the soda of the south. The drink consists of codeine, 7up, and jolly ranchers. People have been experiencing weight gain, tooth decay, and other medical symptoms because of the drink. There have also been reports of people dying because of the drink. Codeine is also an ingredient that helps people go to sleep.

It has been in the streets since the 1960's, but, the drink gained its popularity when rappers started using the drink in songs. There's even this song that I dug up on youtube:
