Rashad Jennings Injury: Updates on Giants RB’s Thumb and Return

New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings is recovering from a thumb injury, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Jennings Inactive vs. Washington Sunday, Sept. 25 Jennings will surprisingly be kept out of action on Sunday due to his thumb injury, per Rapoport. Jordan Raanan of ESPN noted Jennings wanted to play all week, but the team opted to play it safe. 
Jennings Hoping to Build on Strong 2015 Campaign The running back played a full season for the first time in his career in 2015. Not coincidentally, he also rushed for a career-high 863 yards and three touchdowns on 195 carries.
Injuries have been a dominant theme for Jennings ever since the Jacksonville Jaguars selected him in the seventh round of the 2009 draft. He missed four games through his first two years before a knee injury wiped out all of 2011. Between 2012 and 2014, Jennings was out for a combined 12 games.
