Rob Ninkovich Injury: Updates on Patriots DE’s Triceps and Return

New England Patriots defensive end Rob Ninkovich suffered a triceps injury during practice Tuesday, per ESPN.com's Mike Reiss.

Ninkovich to Potentially Miss 1st Game Since 2009 Tuesday, Aug. 9 As MassLive's Kevin Duffy noted, Ninkovich has appeared in the Patriots' last 116 games. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Ninkovich won't have to undergo surgery to repair the injured triceps, and he could return by October, so his consecutive games streak is in serious jeopardy.
Ninkovich has been a steady presence along New England's defensive line for the last few years. Between 2011 and 2015, he averaged a little over seven sacks a year. ESPN.com's Bill Barnwell believes his absence will have a major effect on the Patriots defense:
