Saints Vs. Seahawks – Marshawn Lynch Runs over the Saints Playoff Plans

On a crisp and somewhat hazy Seattle afternoon, with all the momentum sapped from the fledgling Seattle offense, running back Marshawn Lynch pulled off the most spectacular run of his career exactly when the Seahawks had to have it. It propelled the upstart and pesky club to the second round of the NFL playoffs over the heavily favored defending Super Bowl Champ New Orleans Saints.
Lynch finished the day with 131 yards on 19 carries.  Not bad for a back on a team with a reputation of an impotent running attack.
NBC’s Tom Hammond and Mike Mayock spent most of the first quarter assuring skeptical east coast viewers that the Seahawks being in this game was just, and that they might be able to finish it without embarrassing themselves. When New Orleans jumped out to their ten point first quarter lead, both pundits seemed resigned that the Seahawks would soon capitulate like a torpedoed Frigate.
And yet after the game a jubilant Pete Carroll casually mentioned that...
