San Diego Chargers Must Decide Free Agency Priorities

I believe the priority of contract signings in San Diego will go as follows: Ryan Mathews, Vincent Jackson, Marcus McNeill, and then Shawne Merriman.
I pick Ryan Mathews as the first priority. He is the rookie and has the most learning to do of the four. Obviously Chargers veterans know exactly what to expect, not only in their Chargers role, but the pace of the NFL as well.
Merriman, Jackson, and McNeill all know what training camp, preseason, and life in the NFL is all about. They know how to prepare their minds and bodies to perform at peak expectations.
Ryan Mathews holds none of these advantages, nor has he become familiar with the play calls, option packages, blitz pickups, audibles, or snap counts. Since he is going to carry a huge load in the Chargers offense, getting him to camp on time should be the major focus amongst management in San Diego.
