San Diego Chargers Sign Tra Thomas and Josh Reed, Sign Away Lombardi Chances

In the infamous quote by legendary coach Vince Lombardi, "What the hell is going on around here?"
Like being a child expecting that new bike on Christmas Eve, Chargers fans have awoken to a finely wrapped cardigan sweater.
The Chargers have again signed the wrong man for the job.
Let me see if I've got this right, here. The Chargers have on the roster a 27-year-old Pro Bowl wide receiver and a 26-year-old All-Pro left tackle that they are cashing in for two older, slower, less productive players.
And why?
Because they want to play multiple-year contracts in San Diego!
News Flash! This is a "GOOD THING!" Any team in the NFL would be happy to have this "PROBLEM(?)."
So that's it?
A.J Smith isn't playing contract negotiation games at all.
Let's see what we have here. Philip Rivers signs a contract for $92 million. But his top receiver and left tackle are taken away. This makes a lot of dollars, but it doesn't make any sense!
