Mark Sanchez. Tim Tebow. Mark McElroy. Does it really matter?
Yes, Rex Ryan named the third-string quarterback, Mark McElroy, as the starting quarterback this week against the Chargers. Is this the future? No. Do the Jets need a legitimate quarterback to lead them in 2013? Yes. 
Finally, the Jets realize the third stringer gives them the "best chance to win" a game. Bottom line, this whole thing known as the New York Jets in 2012 has become a colossal mess. Even the tabloids are getting tired of talking about the Jets this year. 
New York's playoff hopes are dead going into Week 16. Rex Ryan has thrown in the towel. McElroy is the starter. Will it win? 
The good news for Jets fans is they have an almost equally dysfunctional opponent in the Chargers. San Diego has problems of its own to deal with. Norv Turner is all but out. Philp Rivers is being questioned as the franchise QB.
