Sheldon Rankins Injury: Updates on Saints DT’s Leg and Return

New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins suffered a broken fibula during Monday's practice. He's set to undergo surgery in North Carolina on Tuesday, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
It is uncertain when he will be able to return.

Latest on Rankins' Timeline for Return Monday, Aug. 15 Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Rankins is "likely" to be sidelined "about six weeks," citing a source. Schefter also spoke to another source who quoted a six- to eight-week timeline for his return.
Nick Underhill of the Advocate previously reported the injury is "not believed to be season-ending."
