A direct source claims Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson’s made the decision to skip organized team activities this week due to a personal issue with the family–not because of the current contract situation with the organization.
Numerous stories across the internet have questioned whether or not Jackson’s decision to skip OTA’s has to do with his desire for a contract extension with the Eagles. Over the last few weeks, the Pro Bowl wideout has been a popular topic in the media because of his contract situation with Philadelphia. He has two years remaining on his rookie deal and is expected to earn a combined $805,000 in 2010. However, the source close to DeSean claims his absence isn’t contract related, just a family issue that needs to be addressed.
