Steve Smith Injury Update: Ravens Star Reportedly Has 4 Broken Ribs

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith is considered "day-to-day" after X-rays revealed he suffered four broken ribs in Thursday's 23-20 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network broke the news, correcting previous reports that stated Smith suffered broken back bones. As Chick Hernandez of Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic noted, the injury is to the back part of Smith's ribs, hence the confusion.
Given the varying reports, the team tweeted out a statement to dispel any rumors.
Smith, 36, left Thursday's game in the fourth quarter after taking a hit to the lower back and did not return. He finished the game with four receptions for 24 yards and had some choice words for Steelers safety Mike Mitchell afterward.
"The best thing I could do without threatening him and saying, 'I will assault him when I see him' is I will say, 'I look forward to playing him again, and he's on my lifetime hit list,'" Smith said, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com.
