Detroit Lions linebacker Tahir Whitehead suffered a knee injury that will force him to miss Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints.

Latest on Whitehead's Status Saturday, Dec. 3 The Lions announced the team downgraded Whitehead's status to out for Week 13 after he was limited throughout practice this week.
Whitehead has assumed several different roles for the Lions since the franchise selected him in the fifth round of the 2012 draft. He's served as an eraser at middle linebacker this season, which has allowed him to set a new career high in combined tackles with 101 through 11 games.
The 26-year-old former Temple standout has also managed to stay on the field consistently throughout his career. He's missed just two games, both as a rookie. All of the ailments he's dealt with in recent years have been of the minor variety.
