Tennessee Titans Make First Cuts

The preseason for the Tennessee Titans has officially started as the Titans have made their first cuts, according to NFL.com. The site reports three players cut, but Dominique Lindsay was actually released due to injury.
Wide receiver Mark Jones and center Kenny Alfred were both released from the team this week. Jones was brought onto the team to return punts and kicks but never really did much thanks to injuries. Now that the Titans have drafted a couple of potential returners Jones' services were no longer needed. 
Alfred was a rookie out of Washington State, and the reason for his release is not known. One theory involves making space to bring back Kevin Mawae. 
Chris Johnson's heir at ECU, Lindsay, came to play for the Titans. However, his time was very short as he injured his Achilles tendon and the Titans parted ways with him with an injury settlement.
