The 2010 NFL Draft: Christmas In April

We do this every year.

For the NFL and the fans thereof, Draft Day is a little like Christmas; it is a holiday when all else ceases to matter and the family gathers for show and tell.

The sports media loves it every bit as much, too. Heck, after an unyielding and seemingly unending basketball season has sent millions in search of therapy, and baseball that threatens another round of the (OMG) NY Yankees vs. the World, there’s just not a lot not to love.

On TV, on the web, and in the homes of America, we wait and watch to see who our favorite teams manage to bring in and begin imagining Super Bowl runs long before these guys even know what their jersey numbers will be.

Oh yes, every team in this league is only a player or two away from history. That is one of the greatest things about the game. But more than that, every draftee is only a few important plays away from a berth in the Pro Bowl, and a dozen or so from immortality in Canton, Ohio!
