The Pittsburgh Steelers Have Extended Mike Tomlin’s Contract

The Pittsburgh Steelers have awarded head coach Mike Tomlin with a three-year contract extension. The deal will carry him through the 2014 season. Financial terms have yet to be announced.
Tomlin, 38, has led the Steeler's to a 31-17 record in his three seasons and in 2009 became the youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl. There was some speculation that the Steeler's would wait till they see how the team performed this season after a disappointing end to 2009, but the Steeler's did not want to leave anything in question as the Rooney family still has complete faith in their young coach.
This deal will continue the rather amazing stretch of over 40 years and only three head coaches for the organization.
It is believed that the Steelers are currently working on an extension for Director of Football Operations Kevin Colbert as well.
