Tony Romo Injury: Broken Collar Bone—Dallas Cowboys Turn To Jon Kitna

October 26, 2010   ·     ·   Jump to comments

In a play eerily familiar to the one that knocked San Francisco 49ers quarterback out of Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Tony Romo, was driven to the ground on a sack by the New York Giants linebacker, Michael Boley.

Boley came in untouched as Cowboys rookie full back, Chris Gronkowski, completely blew his blocking assignment. Boley drove Romo’s left shoulder (non-throwing) into the ground.  X-rays later revealed that Romo had suffered a break of his left clavicle.

This type of injury can require anywhere from eight to 10 weeks to heal.

The Cowboys will turn to veteran quarterback, Jon Kina, while Romo recovers.
After pulling out to a 20-7 lead, sparked by two interceptions and an electrifying kick return by rookie Dez Bryant, the Cowboys find themselves trailing 38-20 midway through the third quarter.
