Travis Johnson Signs With San Diego Chargers, Leaves SD With Four Unsigned FA’s

Three down and four to go. Yesterday Chargers defensive lineman Travis Johnson signed his tender for $1.266 million.
Johnson has a lot of potential, but hasn't quite lived up to the hype as of yet due to injury.
A former first-round pick in 2005, Johnson was selected 16th overall by the Houston Texans. He was picked up by the Chargers last August through a trade.
He played in 13 games, registering 16 tackles for the Bolts. Not exactly what we'd look for in a former first rounder, although injury was the primary culprit for slow play.
Johnson did the right thing. Even without a contract he showed up to the Chargers' Organized Team Activities and planned on attending mini camp.
In an interview Johnson stated, "Of course I'd be practicing with the Chargers. I'm a football player, where else would I be?"
With that positive attitude and being fully healed from injury, I think the money was well spent. I hope that Johnson can work with the rookie Cam Thomas, a...
