Undersized But Plenty Quick: 11 NFL Rookies Who’ll Make an Impact

In the past two seasons, there has been an emerging trend among receivers that come forth from that year’s draft and distinguish themselves as immediate playmakers: small body and plenty of quickness. Everybody knows the bigger names, such as DeSean Jackson and Percy Harvin, whose absurd on-the-field antics would garner reactions of “No way that would happen in real life!” if they occurred during a game of Madden. But it’s the success of lower round picks that is especially of note. Consider Johnny Knox: Drafted in the fifth round out of tiny Abilene Christian, Knox proved to be a contributor on the offensively challenged Bears, finishing in the top ten among rookies in receiving yards. What about Mike Wallace? Drafted by the Steelers last season in the middle of the third round, Wallace tied for second among rookies in receiving touchdowns and was fourth in receiving yards.
