Washington Redskins: Brandon Banks Injury More Serious Than Originally Reported

This Brandon Banks situation is getting more interesting by the day.  Each morning, newspaper headlines read "Banks Still in the Hospital, Expected to be Released Soon."  Day after day, the same thing is being reported.
So why is he still in the hospital?
Just after 3:00 AM Saturday morning, Banks was involved in an altercation outside of a bar in D.C.  He and his friend, Christopher Nixon, got into a verbal argument that turned physical with Jason Shorter.
There have been conflicting reports as to who actually started the fight, but according to D.C. Police, video surveillance shows all three men engaged in a heated confrontation. 
Shorter took the fight to the next level by pulling out a knife, stabbing Nixon in the face and chest, and catching Banks in the upper-left abdomen.
Banks' injury was originally reported to be a "superficial wound," only requiring a "few stitches," according to his agent, James Gould.
