Week 1 NFL Picks: New York Jets Are Three-Point Home Favorites

The Baltimore Ravens and the New York Jets face off Monday night in the first of two ESPN matchups.
Both teams believe they have what it takes to make a Super Bowl run after earning playoffs berths last season. With two of the best defenses in the NFL taking the field Monday night, NFL oddsmakers are expecting a tight, low-scoring game, listing the Jets as a slight 2.5-point favorite with the total set at 35.5.
While defensive coordinator in Baltimore, New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan helped build one of the most feared units in the NFL. He wasted no time doing the same in New York. Ryan took former Ravens Bart Scott and Jim Leonhard and brought the best defense in the NFL to New York.
It looked like that defense could be without one of its best players, but a long holdout by Pro Bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis has finally come to a close. Revis is expected to play in the opener, and the Jets will need him to play well against what appears to be an improv...
