What the Brent Grimes Signing Means for the Dolphins

The Dolphins are edging toward filling all their needs before the draft.
They knocked another one off the list on Saturday by signing former Falcons cornerback Brent Grimes, as reported by Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk:
The Dolphins have been in talks with Grimes for a while now, so the signing comes as little surprise. They also have a pretty desperate need at cornerback after losing Vontae Davis and Sean Smith in the span of less than eight calendar months.
Grimes is 5'10" and around 180 pounds. He's not the size of Davis or Smith, who were both over 6'0" and 200 pounds. 
If he is any indication, though, the Dolphins don't mind sacrificing a little size for some versatility. The same goes for last year's signing of Richard Marshall, who stands 5'11" and weighs 190 pounds. Unlike Smith, who was seen strictly as a man-cover corner, Grimes can play man or zone coverage, but his strength is in man.
