Why We’re Making a Mistake Rushing to Judgement on Michael Vick

The Associated Press is reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles are strongly considering cutting Michael Vick after news about a shooting at his 30th birthday party this last week surfaced.
Vick has denied any involvement in the shooting and has spoken to the authorities, but has not been ruled out as a person of interest in the case. Former co-defendant Quanis Phillips, who was convicted of dog fighting with Vick, was shot in the leg outside of the birthday party.
Eagles coach Andy Reid spoke with Vick but has said, "nothing has been decided" on his future.
"I want to assure everyone that I had nothing to do with that incident," Vick said in a statement released to the press. "I left the restaurant prior to it occurring and did not witness what happened."
While the Eagles took a chance on Vick, it would be understandable if they cut him. That is,"if" they were to find that he was involved or lied about the situation in any way.
