Wolf’s Salary Series: Were Each Team’s Top RB Worth Their 2009 Paycheck?

A quality running back should be worth every single dollar their respective teams pay them. In what will be part two of a multiple part salary series (last week was the quarterbacks), each of the following slides will represent the best performing running back on each team in 2009 and if he was worth his paycheck (salaries according to a USA Today report). Each carry, yard, and touchdown will be measured against their total salary in 2009 (salary only includes base salary, plus bonuses received for the 2009 campaign). This next slide offers the mathematical details so you can better understand the process. Writer's note: For the last three slides, there was no mathematical equation, just a process of ranking that compared all running backs based on their averages and the accumulative averages and the "Best Bang for the Buck slide are the runners who had the best overall averages to meet the accumulative mean.Begin Slideshow
