2010 Miami Dolphins Offseason Overview: Linebacker

The Dolphins linebacker corps enters the new NFL season with more question marks than answers. Joey Porter and Jason Taylor led the unit in sacks with nine and seven respectively, but neither is expected back next season.
Porter will be released as soon as the free agent signing period begins on Mar. 5, and Taylor is already set to become an unrestricted free agent. While both players’ contributions in 2009 were sub-par, the names beyond the two former all-pros are all limited in varying capacities. 
CFL-import Cameron Wake showed some good progress in his rookie season with five sacks, but his skill set is best utilized as a pass-rushing specialist. He struggled in pass coverage and run support. The talent is there, but a lot of work is needed. Expect him to make strides in his second season, but Wake can’t be the answer to the pass-rushing needs.
Charlie Anderson is the only veteran outside linebacker under contract next season, but he is a career backup. With on...
