2010 NFL Free Agency: Steelers Not Likely to Make Big Splash

It's that time of year again. The free agency period is about to start and everybody and their uncle has an idea of what their team should do.
Steelers fans have long admired the way their team operates, they are arguably one of the best run organizations in professional sports.
So why is it every year around this time those same fans start clamoring for the Steelers to sign every big name free agent on the market?
How soon they forget. It's not the way the Steelers do business.
Pittsburgh tries to sign their own players and build through the draft. They are more apt to sign a lesser known free agent, someone under the radar they don't have to dump a truckload of cash at to acquire.
The Steelers have some of their own business to take care of at the moment. Getting deals done for Casey Hampton, Jeff Reed and Ryan Clark take priority over making a big splash signing another team's free agent.
