The Associated Press' Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year awards were announced Friday.
St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford won the offensive award and Detroit Lions defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh walked away with the defensive award.
Suh received 48 out of a possible 50 votes, while New England Patriots cornerback Devin McCourty received the other two.
McCourty was the 27th overall pick of the draft and exceeded all expectations.
While being scouted, McCourty was said to be a great special teams player and could be a No. 2 cornerback or a package player at best; McCourty ended up starting all 16 games for New England, lining up as the team's top corner.
McCourty recorded a team-high seven interceptions with 82 tackles, one sack and 17 pass deflections on his way to a Pro Bowl-awarded season.
