Running Game Directs Indianapolis Colts 2011 NFL Mock Draft
Ever since Edgerrin James departure, the Colts have been trying for years to improve their running game, especially in the first round of the draft. Taking Joseph Addi and Donald Brown have yielded good, but not great results.
Maybe it's time they try another method.
Upgrading the offensive line would improve that running game, something they really need to do if they hope to claim the AFC South title for a third straight season.
There are some good options available to them here, but Gabe Carimi is hands down the best run blocking offensive tackle of a pretty solid bunch. He is enormous and has good quickness off the ball. Now he's not regarded as an elite pass rusher, but that will change in the Colts offense. He's definitely talented enough to transition to playing in the shotgun most of the time.
