Philadelphia Reportedly Will Be Named 2017 Host City in August Wednesday, July 27 The NFL is reportedly set to name Philadelphia as the host city for the 2017 NFL draft, two sources told Matt Lombardo of NJ Advance Media. The league will make that announcement on Tuesday, August 2, or Tuesday, August 9, according to Lombardo.
U.S. representative Bob Brady already said in early July that the draft was headed to Philadelphia, per Wendy Ruderman of Philly.com:
The NFL wanted to come here, which is a good start. I talked with the mayor. The mayor had a concern about money because he didn't want to put the city in debt, rightfully so, so we had to go around and see if we could get some people that would help finance it, and I think we were kind of successful.
