AJ Smith: Getting the Best Out of the Deal Even If It’s Vincent Jackson

I've been reading a couple of articles as of late.  Many articles pointing to the "fact" that Vincent Jackson should be traded soon in order for the San Diego Chargers to get at least a second-round pick for the disgruntled star instead of a first-round pick.
With all the arguments that were made, this is probably the one statement that I've heard everyone argue: "If the Broncos got two second-round picks for Brandon Marshall and the Steelers got nothing more than a fifth-round pick for Santonio Holmes, there is no way that the Chargers will get anything more than a second-rounder if they're lucky."
That is the case for most teams if they had to deal with Vincent Jackson, but there is one variable they aren't factoring in: AJ Smith.
AJ Smith will get the maximum for what he believes Vincent Jackson is worth.  He doesn't care if he sits out the entire season.  It's the principle.
