New York Jets safety Antonio Allen seemingly put himself in position to earn plenty of playing time in 2015, but some bad luck has left his NFL future in doubt.

Allen Waived/Injured by Jets Friday, Aug. 7 The 26-year-old defensive back has been back at home in his natural position of safety during training camp thus far, but he suffered an unfortunate non-contact Achilles injury during Thursday's practice, according to ESPN.com's Rich Cimini.
With his 2015 season being over, the Jets decided to waive the 2012 seventh-round draft pick, per Cimini.
While he could be claimed by another team, the likeliest scenario is that the former South Carolina standout will clear waivers before being placed on injured reserve by the Jets, according to Connor Hughes of the Journal Inquirer.
