Matt Leinart went from college superstar to NFL bust, and now he is fighting for a starting job at QB.
Derek Anderson was picked up in the offseason by the Cardinals after having just one great season with the Cleveland Browns.
These two will go at it for a chance to show their best stuff and win the starting job.
Leinart started Week 1 vs. the Texans and Week 2 vs. the Titans but didn't bring his best stuff. He was 4 of 6 for 28 yards. The Titans, along with Vince Young and Chris Johnson, overmatched the Cardinals in a defeat. The backups of that game looked even better than Leinart, including Derek Anderson.
Ken Whisenhunt decided to start Derek Anderson after seeing what he did in the Titans game. As Anderson took on Chicago, he looked pretty good. Anderson went 7 of 12 for 94 yards and one touchdown. Leinart, also playing in the game, did almost as well going 9 of 10 for 84 yards and a touchdown.
