Atlanta Falcons Flying High, Host Struggling San Francisco 49ers in Week 4

Talk about two teams in different places.

The Falcons are flying high after a 27-24 overtime win against the defending Super Bowl champion Saints, while the 49ers, practically everyone’s favorite to win the weak NFC West, are reeling after an 0-3 start.

It doesn’t get any easier for San Francisco, as they travel cross-country to the Georgia Dome Sunday where the Falcons will likely be anything but gracious hosts.

With the overtime win in New Orleans, the Falcons improved to 2-1. Their only loss this season came in Week 1 to the Steelers, 15-9.

Since then, the offense has clicked.

Quarterback Matt Ryan posted his second straight 100.0-plus quarterback rating, running the Falcons’ record to 11-0 when he does so. Meanwhile, the Falcons have had back-to-back 100-yard rushers—Michael Turner last week and Jason Snelling in Week 2.
