Atlanta Falcons’ Jason Snelling Named NFC Offensive Player Of The Week

Falcons’ backup running back Jason Snelling’s 129 rushing yards on 24 carries and two touchdowns against the Cardinals last Sunday earned him NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for last week.
He also caught five balls for 57 yards and a touchdown.

Snelling’s fellow running backs Michael Turner (groin) and Jerious Norwood (knee) both left the game with injuries, leaving Snelling with the bulk of the carries. Norwood has since been placed on injured reserve, while Turner seems to be making progress.

“Every week I prepare myself like I’m going to be the starter,” said Snelling. “I work hard to be my best, and when an opportunity comes, I like to do my best.”

Snelling’s work last Sunday came in the Falcons’ 41-7 rout of the visiting Cardinals as the team improved to 1-1 on the young season.
